Summary & Strategy:

Cantrip is a capricious but very versatile damage-dealer and utility character - with a broad set of approaches to dealing with problems on a given board state. By utilizing tricks, you're able to combo chains of plays and effects to eliminate difficult targets or help bolster your team and protect vulnerable companions. However, Cantrip is a fairly fragile target herself, and the nature of tricks - and her access to them - can at times be difficult to predict.

It is fairly easy to utilize Cantrip's deck in a straightforward fashion and go off the cuff with your plays - but some or the more potent (and tricky) options available to you can be found in Deja Vu and CattarrattaC. Deja Vu allows you to duplicate a one-shot you play so that it occurs twice (though important note: in Sentinels, the first one-shot that 'resolves' is the last one-shot you play in a chain!) CattarrattaC is generally a later-game gambit, but can help secure crucial damage against a hard target - provided you've been regularly adding tricks to your trash!

Bio

Cantrip can trip on catnip, and so can mew! - Hmm? Oh, right, yes, that interruption aside: the peculiar sorceress known as Cantrip, a.k.a. Cassidy (allegedly) is a fae feline broadly believed to be a pookah or something of the sort - efforts at confirmation are broadly fruitless.

Outwardly, Cantrip has a humanoid form she is most predominately seen as, though it is not uncommon for her to go about as a seemingly ordinary cat (apart from the glasses, that is.) She is a shape-shifter capable of altering her appearance, however, which coupled with prodigious illusory magic sees her excel at misdirection and misleading foes in the chaos of battle.

Trickery, mischief and pranks run deep for Cantrip, nevertheless -- and the flighty fae is more often than not pursuing some new amusement or entertainment wherever it can be found. However, her predilection for potent sorcerous prowess is not to be underestimated, and there is a candid argument over the possibility that she may be the most powerful member of the Society of Sorceries... provided she's paying attention.

Though there is no official record of such, Cantrip was seemingly present at the formation of the Society of Sorcery's organization in 1342 A.D.; while members of the society cultivate magic from a variety of means and disciplines, the more academic and studious approach is far too boring to interest Cantrip. Instead, she has served numerous tenures as a 'familiar' to other powerful users of magic - and has come away from such with a knowledge of their respective spells.

On occasion Cantrip is found with the company of her sister, Twitch a.k.a. Casey (allegedly) or the 'Tactical Witch' - and where Cantrip has pursued sorcerous prowess over the ages, her sister diverged into a far more intensive and 'serious' regiment, presently serving as a member of the Otherworldly Threat Tactical Response (or O.T.T.R.) with a varied arsenal. Putting the two together invariably leads to a flare-up of their sibling rivalry.

At present, Cantrip is a member of the preeminent team of the Society of Sorceries and routinely operates alongside the Archivist, Sirocco, Nemo and Whisper - when she's not preoccupied with other distractions or flights of fancy.

Nevertheless, if a team can tolerate a capricious feline being an occasional nuisance, when the chips are down Cantrip is capable of wielding powerful offensive magics - and provides any team she operates alongside with a variety of supportive options and defensive interference.
